In 2020, Salemo & Merca, Lda applied for the Eco Companies Project, promoted by the City Council of Palmela in order to support increased efficiency in energy consumption in the business sector, rational use of water, reduction, reuse and waste recycling, responsible consumption and sustainable mobility, in a logic of efficiency in the use of natural resources.

After evaluating the environmental and energy performance by the City Council in conjunction with the ENA (Agency for Energy of Arrábida) Salemo & Merca, Lda was awarded, in 2021, the Green Seal and the Reward Eco Company, which confers the municipal recognition of Salemo & Merca, Lda regarding its environmental qualification, thus evidencing the practice of implementing environmentally responsible, more ecological and efficient procedures and measures.
